PostSubject: Dual carbs   Sun 13 Sep 2009, 21:11

Well I missed out on the Webers on E-bay, they went for almost $500 and I just wasn't sure about that for used carbs. Was reading the Samba and guys are bragging about how good the Weber-Dual ICT kits are from CBPerformance. (www.cbperformance.com).
Has anybody heard about these? They list for $400.00, they do have 40 webers for $760.00. Just wish I knew what to do or how much to spend. Looking forward to the Oct. car show.
Thanks Karl

Well the ICT are good carb, they are more of a stock application. But the $700 IDF webers are well worth the price as they are a performance carb and run great on all applications. Now if your motor is close to stock, such as stock head, stock compressition, stock or mild cam, stuff like that the ICT will work fine, if your motor has more work then that i would go with the IDF's

The engine is on the built side. Not knowing exactly what was done to it . Joe and Dennis at DMD Montclair (yeasr ago) built it before they retired to UTI. It had sat in Dennis's storage for about 4 years til I bought it. Sounds pretty healthy.
I'll have to check into the Webers. Thanks

I was getting ready to order the 40 webers when I got an e-mail from CB Performance telling me that with a 1776 the ICT's would work. I feel that I should just go ahead and buy the webers. Do I have the right idea???
Thanks Karl

Karl, go with the weber's I just put a set on a 1776 and it runs great, they are good up to a 2000cc or so.
The webers will give better top end (freeway) than the ict's.

CB had the jetting almost perfect on our's, you may have to do some minor tuning.

Plus weber's are way cool looking.

I spoke with CBPerformance , told them what was done with my engine and they recommended I go with the ICT's. Received them today. Thanks for the input. See you at the car show on the 10th. I agree...Webers do look good.
